The following is the Report of the Group to review the RIA House Rules and Procedures with particular reference to the complaints procedure.

Arising from the report and in accordance with its findings, the revised house rules were submitted to the National Adult Literacy Association for proofing in relation to simplicity of language. The house rules were then recirculated to the members of the review group and final approval on the text was received in November 2009. A programme of information and dissemination to residents and staff of all accommodation centre about the house rules began in April 2010, and all residents, individually, or as part of a household, were issued with a copy.

In choosing the languages for translation, RIA looked at the nationality profile of residents in the centres, and opted for languages that would cover the broadest number of residents, either as a first language, or as 'linguas francas'.

Where demographic changes take place in RIA's nationality profile, consideration may be given to translations into additional languages.
